The Curriculum

What to expect each week.

Lessons at Music Trebles follow a clear weekly rhythm. Every lesson is designed around intentional progress — not just showing up and playing through songs.

Literacy and Confidence

Reading music from day one. Students learn to decode notes, not memorize by ear.

Technique and Expression

Proper form builds real skill. Expression makes music worth playing.

Consistent Feedback

Students know exactly where they are and what to work on next.

A Clear Takeaway Every Class

Every student leaves knowing their assignment. No guessing, no wasted practice time at home.

This isn't just "come and play" — it's an intentional space for real musical progress.

Meet Your Teacher

Hey, I'm Kaleb — and I help students grow.

I've been playing piano for right at 30 years and teaching for more than a decade. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Music with an emphasis in piano performance from Southern Adventist University, and I've worked with students of all ages to help them build confidence, discipline, and creativity through music.

I started Music Trebles with one simple goal: to help students become literate pianists — musicians who understand what they're playing, not just memorizing by ear. I don't want students to just try piano. I want them to enjoy it, stick with it, and keep growing week after week.

Whether you're brand new to this or returning to the piano after time away, I'm here to support you with the structure and encouragement you need to make consistent progress.

Here's what families in Ooltewah are saying.

Common questions.

Do we need a piano at home before starting? +
A full piano is ideal but not required at the start. A basic 61-key keyboard with weighted keys works fine. After the trial lesson I can give you specific recommendations so you know exactly what to look for and don't overspend.
What age is the right time to start? +
Most children are ready around age 6, when they can sit still for 30 minutes and follow simple multi-step instructions. I evaluate each child individually during the free trial to make sure the timing is right — no pressure either way.
How much practice will my child need to do? +
15 to 20 focused minutes a day is enough for real progress in the beginning. Consistency matters more than length — and every student leaves with a clear enough plan that they can practice independently without you directing every step.
I'm not musical. Can I still support my child? +
Absolutely. You don't need to know anything about music. The most important thing is creating space for a consistent, low-pressure practice window at home. I handle everything else.
Do you teach adults? +
Yes — while the core program is designed for kids and teens, adult lessons are available. Please reach out directly for more information on adult programming.
